Instagram and its CEO, Adam Mosseri, recently responded to a backlash that trended online, and it came from famous personalities and influencers, including Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, and more. The focus of their protest is to "Make Instagram Instagram again," and it comes after the reinforcement of the platform to focus on video and its Reels feature.

Mosseri clarifies that it is still focusing on photos as much as videos on the platform.

Instagram's top executive, Adam Mosseri, went to Twitter and posted a video explaining the new features seen on the application, focusing on different key topics. One of its focuses is the vertical full-screen feed that will apply for photos and videos, with Mosseri explaining that it is only in the trial stages, and only a handful saw the latest feature.

Another critical topic that Mosseri discussed online is how Instagram is not turning its back on photos, saying that it is also putting a massive focus on the images as much as videos online. Previously, Instagram put an enormous effort into its Reels, with many programs and opportunities to grow online via the vertical short video format.

Additionally, the Instagram head said it is regarding the "Friend" content in the feed, advising the public to put them in their Favorites to show them at the top.

A specific post trended online that focused on addressing an issue on Instagram from a user named "@iilumitati," which talks about "Make Instagram Instagram Again." The post said it should "stop trying to be TikTok" and that the user only wants to see "cute photos" from friends instead of the Reels content.

It is something that influencers and personalities like Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, and other known celebrities online reposted.

Instagram and its Offers Now

One of the many changes to the Instagram app is the vertical full-screen feed that the company brought for experimental purposes and has different users receiving it on their devices. It presents what TikTok gave the world, taking over the entire screen, with one tile per scroll to envelop the display for the public.

Its primary focus now is how it reinforces the Instagram Reels for all videos, and it would put all posts that focus on clips or are edited as videos to appear on the dedicated tab. The company also extended the Reels from its 30 seconds and 60 seconds setup before to now having an extended 90 seconds version to post on its platform.

There are many changes to Instagram now, and influencers and known personalities that have long used the platform are asking for its return to the former experience. Previously, it focused on a feature for both the photo and video. Still, influencers think that it focuses more on video than photos, something that was the primary offer of the app when it started.
