The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) is an annual event that circles around some of the most popular fighting games in the industry. This year, there have been numerous announcements regarding different fighting games revealed at the event.

Evo 2022 Announcements Included New Additions for 'Street Fighter 6' and More

Every year, professional gamers gather from around the world to Las Vegas in order to prove that they are the best in certain games like "Tekken 7," "Street Fighter V," and so much more. According to the story by Games Hub, the recent Evo 2022 included important announcements for certain titles.

One of the most popular announcements was that "Street Fighter 6" revealed new characters, Kimberly and Juri. Aside from that, a new game called "Fatal Fury/Garou" was announced and much more.

Teaser Points Towards 'Tekken 8' but Could be a Remake or Reboot

There was also what the article notes seemed like a "Tekken 8" teaser as well as real-time commentators, James Chen and Tasty Steve, added to Street Fighter 6. Aside from this, "Kingdom of Fighters XV" reportedly announced the addition of new DLC characters.

As per an article by IGN, Bandai Namco revealed a trailer regarding the "Tekken 7" update. The teaser reportedly used footage coming from the original Tekken and the article notes that the teaser could actually point towards either a remake or a reboot of the series itself.

Other News Included Additional Characters for 'Guilty Gear: Strive'

"Guilty Gear: Strive" is also expected to add a new character by the name of Bridget and King of Fighters XV will be getting its very own cross-play feature between all platforms to allow more gamers to play with or against one another.

Aside from this, there will also be a rollback netcode for "Persona 4 Arena Ultimax" and "Guilty Gear: Strive" would also be getting cross-play as well as some other updates. There is also expected to be a rollback netcode to come with the upcoming "Dragon Ball FighterZ" that will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S.

New DLC Characters are Expected to Come to 'Skullgirls 2nd Encore' and 'Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl'

Plans regarding the "MultiVersus Season 1" was also announced during the event including "Melty Blood: Type Lumia" which is expected to be getting a major update before the end of the year.

"Skullgirls 2nd Encore" also announced the addition of a new DLC character called Marie. "Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl" also announced the addition of another DLC character as well, Hugh Neutron during the Evo 2022 event.

With numerous news dropped all at once, gamers will be able to enjoy different updates for many different titles mentioned above. With numerous new characters, DLCs, and cross-platform features, fighting game players are expected to have a busy year with all the updates, additions of new characters, and the ability to play with more gamers from other platforms.
