There's a new DJI Avata leaked video that churns speculations of a First-Person View (FPV) drone from DJI, according to The Verge.

In this picture taken on May 11, 2017, a drone is seen in the showroom of the DJI headquarters in Shenzhen. China drone-maker DJI is betting on flying machines that shoot pesticide instead of photos to fend off growing competition in the global remote-controlled aircraft market. The world leader in the civilian drones sector is switching its focus from leisure photography to more professional uses for its unmanned aerial vehicles, and it sees agriculture as the future for the burgeoning industry.

The latest reports suggest that the Avata will be flyable indoors due to its "cinewhoop" design. In the video posted, it appears the drone is being piloted with DJI's motion controller, and the drone's pilot is wearing a pair of FPV goggles that seem like a new model. The DJI Goggles 2 look to have a similar design to its existing pair but is smaller and features a more compact design.

Additionally, a photo of its retail packing seems to confirm that it's the Avata and will have the capability to shoot a 4K stabilized video bundled with a DJI Goggles 2 and a Motion Controller in the box. Other features include a "palm-sized" design, a propeller guard that is built in, and an HD low-latency transmission. There is also a photo that shows the drone alongside accessories, such as the FPV goggles, the motion controller, and a standard controller. Then, another photo series shows a close-up view of the drone from every angle, where you will see its ducted propellers, which may be significant to damage reduction when the drone crashes.

Also, the information displayed on the leaked box shows that DJI AirSense powers Avata. AirSense uses ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) technology that provides drone pilots with enhanced situational awareness and helps them make better decisions while flying.

Additionally, the AirSense gathers flight data sent automatically from nearby aircraft with ADS-B transmitters, analyzing it to detect potential collision risks and alert users in advance through the mobile app.

The Previous Leaks

This isn't the first time the DJI Avata has had some interesting leaks. Previously, the leaks show that the drone will weigh around 500g, so pilots will need to register with the FAA to fly it outdoors. When it comes to its camera specs, it can potentially match the quality of DJI's recent Mini 3 Pro.

The Release of Avata

With all of this new information, a lot of people are getting more excited to get their hands on this new DJI drone. In previous reports, the DJI could be launched this month, but with no sign yet, it could likely be delayed.

Still, if the release pushes through this year, it will be DJI's first product in the second half of 2022.

One thing we know for sure is that the drone has already been submitted to and approved by the FCC. That said, the product design, circuitry, and construction are now final.
