Lei Jun's Speech ended earlier, and it brought significant new releases from Xiaomi's company including its most significant focus and venture, the smartphone. Now, what is left to the public is new information regarding the new Xiaomi smartphone, the foldable device known as the MIX Fold 2, the next device to its original Mi Mix Fold.

The philosophical speech from the Xiaomi CEO included more than his views on life and business technology, as it brought the world the Chinese company's take on the new foldable device.

The original Mi Mix Fold did not make it much into the mainstream availability, but it seems that the new MIX Fold 2 is poising up to be a global release, but is not yet available in the market now. The CEO's speech did not reveal its selling and delivery dates for the world.

Xiaomi said that the MIX Fold 2 is only 11.2 millimeters when folded, and it is like a regular smartphone with a case, while its unfolded or expanded state gives 5.4mm only, one of the slimmest devices in existence.

However, that is not the highlight of this Leica co-engineered smartphone as it brings a new camera system with the German company for its photo and video needs.

The "Micro Waterdrop Hinge" brings the main engineering of its folding state. Xiaomi also boasts of the Snapdragon Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm for the new smartphone.

Xiaomi's Foldable and Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold

Xiaomi is turning its attention to foldable devices now, and it rivals the famous South Korean company that is leading in this charge as it recently unveiled the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 earlier this week.

There is a significant advancement to Xiaomi's new foldable device, and the public did not see this coming from the company before its reveal.

The public thought that Xiaomi is knee-deep in its focus on the Mi 12S Ultra that it unveiled last month, with the flagship smartphone bringing the latest device there is to the company. It sports the massive Leica lens on the rear camera array, and it brings multiple lenses inside that are a part of its main setup for the device.

The Galaxy Unpacked recently concluded and introduced two of its foldable smartphones, with Xiaomi joining in the reveal this August.

Now, there are more options to consider when buying foldable smartphones, with Xiaomi's MIX Fold 2 lining up with Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold4 which presents a crosswise or vertical folding device. Its specs are massive and rival that of the Samsung make, and it only shows that there are more devices available for all to enjoy.
