The Pokemon Company is adding to the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet hype today as they release a new trailer for the upcoming Nintendo Switch game. This time the new trailer focuses more on details regarding the game's unique gameplay and new battle features.

As first revealed by previous game teasers, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will feature a bunch of new game features that will change how the game is played. Also, we have already been informed that this new-generation Pokemon game will feature new Pokemons, starting from the cutest ones to the mighty legendaries.

The new gameplay trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet starts off with what seems to be a Pokemon battle arena inside a school facility or a training academy for Pokemon trainers. The trailer tells us that there will be new additions to bring more excitement to Pokemon Battles.

Coming Into the Battle is New Dragon/Normal Type Cyclizar

In the first scene, we see a Pokemon battle between a boy trainer and a girl trainer about to commence. The first one brought out a Cloyster, and the school girl brought out a new Pokemon. This one will be called Cyclizar. According to CNET, Cyclizar is a dragon Pokemon that resembles a bicycle. This new Pokemon looks like a simpler version of the game's featured legendaries, Koraidon and Miraidon. Dragon/Normal types are actually pretty rare in the Pokemon universe. Bulbapedia, the Pokemon almanac, tells us that Cyclizar may be the second Dragon/Normal type to enter the game, with the first one being Placid Pokemon Drampa.

Coming into the game with Cyclizar is a new move called Shed Tail. Shed Tail is a cool and more convenient version of the Substitute move. In this new move, a Pokemon can create a clone copy or substitute for it on the battlefield, which can receive damage for the Pokemon for a single turn. Aside from that, the Pokemon using Shed Tail can then swap places with a party Pokemon in waiting. Simply put, Shed Tail moves Substitute and Baton Pass in one.

Shed Tail is based on the defense mechanism most real-life lizards use in the wild. When facing a threat, a lizard can choose to sever its tail to distract a predator that is in pursuit.

New Items Are Coming Into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

The first item featured in the gameplay trailer is the Mirror Herb. The Mirror Herb is an item that copies an opponent's stat increases when consumed. This can be the perfect item to use against Pokemons who have a liking for moves like Dragon Dance and Swagger.

Another new item is Loaded Dice. Loaded Dice makes multistrike moves more likely to hit more times. Use this item with moves Bullet Seed and Fury Swipes to unlock the full potential of its damage. You will no longer worry about your Bullet Seed running out of hits as your opponent's Pokemon goes critical.

Terastallizing Is a New Take on 'Shiny' Pokemons

This feature that transforms the Pokemon to a gem-like state has already been featured in the first Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailers. With the Terastallizing mechanism, Pokemons can change types and can even gain a useful advantage. Changing types can be useful for many in-game situations.

But this new feature is more than its battle features. No one can deny that this Terastallizing mechanism makes Pokemons look even better. Now, Pokemons can shine bright like a diamond.

Aside from this, we have another new move. This one is called Tera Blast. This move is a perfect compliment with Pokemons under the Terastallized condition as this move allows the user to change types when the user is Terastallized.

More sneak peeks coming our way as the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release nears. The game will be available worldwide on Nov. 18!
