The latest gaming consoles in the world are still enjoying their time in the spotlight, and no new versions from companies like Sony and Microsoft are coming shortly. However, there is a new release for the PlayStation 5 claims reports, and while it remains the same console from the 2021 to 2021 releases, it brings a lighter device compared to the past ones.
New PS5 Release Rolled Out for Public Purchase

According to a report by Press Start, new models of the PlayStation 5 are different than what it was two years ago, and it brings a lighter device for its current releases. The model number CFI-1200 is the latest available console for all, now available in Australia and what is released in the country for all console purchases from Sony.
Despite the new changes from its new releases now, the public should expect the same device from Sony, a console that still borders on delivering on games and the experience. Its 2021 change to the console includes a smaller heatsink, but current changes remain unknown, says the report.

PS5 is Lighter But Features the Same Device
There are not many software changes, and booting the PlayStation 5's latest model release would be the same as the 2020 original release from Sony. The new PlayStation 5 Standard Edition weighs 3.9 kilograms in the present and is the same weight as the PS5 Digital Edition during its first launch.
On the other hand, the 2022 PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is now at 3.4 kilograms, the lightest there is for the console. According to ComicBook Gaming, there are no details from Sony regarding the changes to the current PlayStation 5, but there are specific hardware internal changes that made it lighter now.
PS5's Changes in the Past
Last year's release of the PS5 saw a significant change in its internals, which Sony did not reveal to the public, but seen from the discovery of internet sleuths from their teardown videos. Last August 2021, the PS5 debuted a lighter console than the original release, focusing on a smaller heatsink for its internal component.
It made the PlayStation 5 significantly lighter compared to past versions. Still, there are doubts regarding its performance changes as larger heatsinks would help in the device's better cooling for when its components are running.
Nevertheless, several other patents found by online researchers saw planned changes for the current console, particularly for its better performance. One specific example is the dual-GPU plans from Sony that would help process games better.
Still, these new PlayStation 5s in the market are now lighter than the said 2021 changes, debuting another change for the console for this year's release. There are no announcements from Sony regarding this, and it only means that the company expects no changes in its performance, especially as it becomes more available for public purchase.
