State of Decay for the Xbox One finally has a release date. The game is coming on April 28 for $29.99, but folks with the Xbox 360 version can purchase it for $19.99, which is a 33 percent discount.

Furthermore, folks who own the Xbox 360 version of the game will get an exclusive character. However, it is not certain if this timed exclusivity, so new players of State of Decay may have to do without.

What makes the Xbox One version of State of Decay any different from the previous games?

Well, the game brings forth all the expansions, which includes Breakdown and Lifeline. Additionally, each and every patch will be available, so players should not experience certain bugs that plagued the Xbox 360 version. To make things even more interesting, the game will have new missions, vehicles, weapons, and increased graphics.

Don't expect the most awesome graphics, just something to allow the 1080p image to pop. Oh yes, State of Decay: Survival Edition is 1080p and 60 frames per second, so the performance should be a lot better when compared to the Xbox 360 version.

Hey, what about co-op?

Undead Labs in an interview with IGN, co-op is not coming to the Survival Edition. Apparently, it is too difficult to add, and if the team should have done it, the experience would likely be a disappointment to some. Instead of tacking on co-op on an old game, Undead Labs has chosen to focus its efforts on future releases.

"I feel it every time I play it, everybody feels it every time they play it...you just want to have that experience with your friends," says Undead Labs CEO Jeff Strain. "When that day comes, when we do that, we want it to feel like it's the heart of the experience, and not something that's grafted in."

It is very disappointing to realize that co-op is not coming to State of Decay: Survival Edition. For that reason alone, we cannot recommend the game to people who have played it before on the Xbox 360 and PC. Yes, the updated version is coming with more content, but that is not important in the grand scheme of things.
