A recent IGN report informs us that "League of Legends" animated series "Arcane" has bagged several awards and nominations at the recently concluded Creative Arts Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, last Saturday, Sept. 3.

"Arcane," also known as "Arcane: League of Legends" onscreen, is an animated action-adventure streaming television series currently available on Netflix, produced by Christian Linke and Alex Yee. It is set in Riot's "League of Legends" fictional universe and is produced by Frech animation and production company Fortiche under the supervision of Riot Games.

'Arcane' Wins Big at Emmy Awards

The Netflix animated series makes history in this year's Emmy Awards as the first streaming series to be awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program. In the same categories that "Arcane" was nominated for, it faced a number of animated series from other big animation studios like "Rick and Morty," "The Simpsons," and Marvel's "What If...?"

The series was first launched in Nov. 2021 and was first revealed at the League of Legends' 10th-anniversary celebration in 2019. Riot Games and Netflix have already revealed that a second season is developing for a release after 2022.

Ever since its release, it has been given a lot of great reviews admiring its interesting world-building and exhilarating storyline. Not only that, but many have also noticed how the animation seen in the series presents itself to be the best in the industry. IGN rates it 10 out of 10, and other film critics like IMDb still gave it a 9 out of 10.

The said animated series features "LoL" characters and sisters Vi and Jinx. Vi is considered one of the best champions of the fighter role in the game. No matter, it has proved to be the same tough character in the series. Vi dominates every battle she has been through with her powerful Hextech gauntlets. Vi, though, like everybody else, has her own weaknesses. In "Arcane," it happens to be her sister "Jinx."

Meanwhile, Jinx is one of the most used marksman champions in "League of Legends." Her ultimate skill, "Super Mega Death Rocket," has already cemented its place in LoL history as one of the most interesting ults in the game. Check out this Jinx gameplay montage below:

More About the 'Arcane' Emmy Win

"Honored doesn't even begin to describe how we feel about winning the #Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program," the Arcane Twitter account expressed on the bird app. "Thank you to our incredible team at @RiotGames and Fortiche, the @TelevisionAcad, and the greatest fans (yes, you) for making this possible," the "Arcane" account ended the tweet thanking its production team and also the fans that have been very keen on supporting both its games and the Netflix animated series.

Aside from winning the Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program of 2022, "Arcane" was also awarded three more Emmys. The said animated series stars Hailee Steinfeld, Katie Leung, and Kevin Alejandro.
