FCC and its Chairperson Jessica Rosenworcel released new information regarding the US broadband ventures which aim to better map the country regarding its internet connections. The latest venture towards this effort sees reinforcement from the government agency that accurately identifies locations that need better internet from available service providers in the area.

Its "step" towards better broadband access aims to strengthen the efforts of the agency to provide internet availability for the United States, focusing on the weak spots that still have no access to broadband internet.

There are many internet service providers and telecommunications companies that offer more coverage for all, and the agency's focus mainly centers on terrestrial broadband connections. This is despite the growing fame of companies like SpaceX which offers Starlink for off-planet internet access.

US Broadband, Internet Has Many Weak Spots

Android Central's report said that Rosenworcel and the FCC reached out to ISPs across 50 states to gather information regarding the weak spots in the country. It only shows that rural areas still see struggle in securing internet access for their needs, with some areas still seeing no broadband availability in the region.

FCC's efforts aim to make the internet available despite the area they live in, focusing on interconnectedness and access for various needs.

The United States' Internet Access

Internet is a massive need for all now, and it gives the world access to many services and features around the globe, with most modern connections already relying on access for all. Back in 2021, the FCC focused on a new broadband mapping system that aims to address internet access for all, especially in rural areas.

Also, it is a way for the FCC to bring consumers knowledge on the internet speed and coverage in their area, focusing on transparency and access.

There is a proposed internet speed for the United States regarding its broadband connections, with a soon minimum speed of 100Mbps for download speed from internet service providers. Additionally, the proposed speed also talks about upload speeds that will have a minimum 25Mbps for uploads on the US internet infrastructure.

The FCC is making internet access available for all in future ventures, starting with its current efforts on US broadband mapping that will center on weak spots in different areas. It will soon have regulations on internet coverage and lay plans for terrestrial lines that will supply internet connections even in rural areas, with its efforts that see reinforcements now.
