Niantic has just announced a new augmented reality (AR) game called "Marvel World of Heroes" which will allow players to tap into some of the most iconic moves of Marvel characters. The game is set to come out in 2023.

According to the story by IGN, Niantic has just announced a game that will reportedly turn the Marvel Universe into reality. The type of reality that the Marvel Universe will live in will be augmented reality.

Augment reality was popularized by one of the most well-known games on mobile, "Pokemon Go." The game involved mixing the use of mobile smartphones to view the world in a different light.

Niantic to Release Another AR Game Called 'Marvel World of Heroes'

The technology used the real world through the mobile's lens but added a digital aspect to it. To add, "Pokemon Go" was also released by Niantic, the same company that wants to release another AR game, "Marvel World of Heroes."

The article notes that although gameplay details remain sparse, so far, what's revealed is that players will be able to use the powers of some of the most iconic Marvel superheroes. These include being able to use Dr. Strange's magic, Thor's Mjolnir, or Cyclops' laser eyes.

A trailer has been uploaded by Marvel Entertainment on YouTube to show fans how they might be able to yield the powers of some of their favorite superheroes. As per a post by Marvel, the use of AR mobile experience will help players "create their own Super Hero identity and team-up with fan-favorite Marvel characters in the real world."

 

Pre-Registration is Already Open Despite Game Set to Launch in 2023

Despite the game still being set to launch in 2023, the post noted that pre-registration is already open to those that are interested in the game. In order to pre-register for the game, players will have to go to the "Marvel World of Heroes" website.

The post also invites fans and those interested in the upcoming game to follow the Marvel Games Twitter page in order to be updated. Although the game is still set for launch next year, more news regarding its release can be found on Twitter.

Niantic has Partnered with Other Massive IPs While Trying to Chase the Success of 'Pokemon Go'

IGN notes that Niantic is still trying to chase the success that it was able to bring with its previous "Pokemon Go." The article noted that the company is doing this by collaborating with numerous IPs to bring them to its AR ecosystem.

Aside from Pokemon, Niantic has also tried to develop other games around Harry Potter and Transformers. The latest collaboration of Niantic is arguably one of their biggest collaborations ever, as they are set to bring Marvel IP.
