While many are anticipating the mysterious Samsung Galaxy S23 range, recent rumors indicate that it will follow in the footsteps of the iPhone 14 lineup. With physical designs that aren't that dissimilar to one another.

Galaxy S3 Similar to iPhone 14 Lineup?

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is expected to be one of the first big flagship phones to arrive in 2023. Should the recent rumor be right, we expect that their lineup will not be physically different from their Samsung Galaxy S22 predecessors, like how iPhone 14 was released.

GSMArena cited Ice Universe in a report suggesting that the dimensions of the 2023 devices would be similar to those of the 2022 handsets, along with the display sizes and resolutions. This would be akin to Apple's most recent updates, in which the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, in specific, resemble features from the prior two versions.

The latest Galaxy S23 leak confirms a previous report from the same source, which stated that the Galaxy S23 Ultra would resemble the Galaxy S22 Ultra in appearance. That information has now been expanded to include the whole spectrum.

In detail---the heights and widths were the only ones that appear to change and only by a few tenths of a millimeter. The Galaxy S23 is rumored to be 146.3 mm x 70.9 mm x 7.6 mm (compared to the Galaxy S22's 146 mm x 70.6 mm x 7.6 mm dimensions) and will retain the same 6.1-inch, 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution screen.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S23 Plus is expected to be 157.8 mm x 76.2 mm x 7.6 mm in size (compared with the dimensions of 157.4 mm x 75.8 mm x 7.64 mm of the Galaxy S22 Plus). The display will be 6.6 inches from corner to corner, with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels.

Ice's claim also makes it unlikely that the Galaxy S23 and S23+ screens would return to QHD+ resolution as they did in the S20 generation. It's also unknown if they will at least use LTPO panels. Aside from the design, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will supposedly sport a new 200MP camera, reported by Tech Times. That, alongside a larger FP reader, the same 5,000mAh battery size, but with a retuned 45W charger to fill it up faster), and the same 10x periscope.

One significant difference for the S23 generation is that it will only employ Snapdragon chipsets; analysts have been predicting this for some time, and Qualcomm has firmly hinted at the move.

What Others Have to Say

Despite 'allegedly' using Apple's same strategy, Techradar believes we won't be upset if all of the Galaxy S23's enhancements are on the inside next year. After all, the Galaxy S22 series is fashionable enough, and there's always a potential that Samsung may add some additional colors to the mix the next time around.

People feel that, based on what we know thus far, we won't see anything as revolutionary as Dynamic Island on the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models. However, Samsung has already incorporated several new concepts into its foldable devices, and more leaks are expected in the coming months.
