Apple Arcade is expanding its entertainment lineup with another 2D side-scrolling adventure game. The game is only free to download to Apple Arcade users. "Shovel Knight Dig" costs $24.99 on the Nintendo Switch and Steam. At launch, Steam will offer 10% off and free game soundtrack.
'Shovel Knight Dig' Launches Today
The free-to-play Apple Arcade game was released in the said games catalog Friday, Sept. 23. According to CNET, Shovel Knight Dig's pixelated art style and simple gameplay are reminiscent of playing on a classic arcade.
Many platformer games in the past had similar gameplay, and some broke all-time sales records. Who could ever forget games like "Mario Adventures" and "Donkey Kong?"

After four years of development, Yacht Club Games, based in California, has finally released the game. The developer promises players an action-packed game with their trademark humor.
"There are thousands of pixel-perfect level chunks that are procedurally stitched together to create infinite adventurous combinations," the developer wrote in a blog post. "Each trip down the well will bring you closer to discovering the secrets lying at the bottom."
The best part about any adventure game is that it is strategic and full of surprises. "Shovel Knight Dig" promises a game full of challenging courses and a slew of tough enemies to defeat in order to advance in your adventure.
Cool Characters and Exciting Gameplay
When Drill Knight and his nefarious digging crew destroy Shovel Knight's peaceful campground and steal his treasure chests, he grabs his dependable Shovel Blade and begins tunneling after them. This is one of the game's most hilarious plot points.
Players will meet new friends and possibly new adversaries as they travel underground in pursuit of the drilling thugs. There will also be new maps with various themes and obstacles as players embark on solid rock quests.
