A YouTuber put the Apple Watch Ultra to the test by slamming the smartwatch with a hammer in order to test the gadget's durability. Aside from the hammer, the YouTuber also tried to drop the smartwatch and shake it in a jar of nails.

Apple Watch Ultra Strength Tested by Dropping It from a Height of About 1.2 Meters

The channel being talked about is called TechRax on YouTube. The channel is no stranger to these kinds of actions since they are popularly known for testing the durability of different products.

According to the story by Mac Rumors, the channel first tested the Apple Watch Ultra by trying to drop it from a height of four feet or about 1.2 meters. This first test resulted in the Apple Watch Ultra being mostly unscuffed with only minimal dents along the titanium case.

Other Tests Include Placing the Smartwatch in a Jar of Nails and Hitting It Repetitively with a Hammer

The next experiment that the channel did was to place the Apple Watch Ultra inside a jar of nails. The result of this test showed no visible marks despite sharp objects around the smartphone.

The most interesting test that TechRax did was one that tried to determine the durability of the Apple Watch Ultra. In order to do this, the channel repetitively hit the smartwatch's display with a hammer.

The Apple Watch Ultra Cracked Only After the Table Itself was Damaged

Within the test, the watch was able to withstand a decent number of hits, but eventually, it started to crack after repetitive blows. The thing about the cracks on the smartphone, however, was that they appeared only after the table itself was damaged.

The article by Mac Rumors notes that although the Apple Watch Ultra was able to not take any initial damage. It did, however, start to take damage after being hit repetitively.

Certain Internal Components were Damaged During the Experiment

As per the publication, the failure to be able to power on could show that although the glass might have not initially been broken, there were some internal components that were damaged during the experiment.

Mac Rumors notes that the test is still "unrealistic" when it comes to the portrayal of a typical use case for the smartphone. Despite this, it still provides customers with the assurance of how strong the upcoming sapphire crystal display will be.

Apple to be in Direct Competition with Garmin but the Latter had Something to Say Regarding Battery Life

When it came to the Apple Watch Ultra, Garmin noted that it measures battery life in "months" and not "hours," giving a direct comparison to how long the smartwatch lasts. The Apple Watch Ultra will cost buyers at least $799 when it launches.
