According to the story by Nintendo Life, there was a surprise restock for the new Nintendo 64 controllers in the US for members of Switch Online. The sad thing about the restock is that it did not last long at all and was reportedly sold out in record time.
The fast restock depletion was spotted in a reply on the Nintendo Switch subreddit, where a user shared how the stock was gone in just about two seconds. The user noted that it is important to keep an eye open for any surprise drops that could happen.
N64 Controller Restock was Similar to the PS5 and Xbox Series X Situation
Aside from the N64 controller restock, there has also been restocking of the Sega Genesis three-button controllers in US stores. Just like with the other controllers, however, buyers still need to be part of the Switch Online in order to make a purchase.
The situation for the N64 controller restock is similar to that of other consoles that have struggled when it comes to supply. Despite more than a year since their launch, the PS5 restock, and the Xbox Series X restock situation has still not yet settled.
Nintendo 64 Controllers Sold Out Almost Immediately When Made Available Online
Due to the limited supply and countless scalpers, buyers have not been able to purchase the console at its supposed price. Although the Nintendo Switch itself has not suffered when it comes to supply problems, the N64 controller has suffered greatly.
The trend of bringing back retro games and style has boosted the popularity of the N64 controller to the point that now, with the limited supply available, the controllers sell out almost immediately after they are posted online.
