A new Redmi Pad has just launched with a 2K screen resolution and packs an 8,000mAh battery. This particular tablet is only being sold for just $180.

Redmi Pad is a Tablet that Will Sell for Just Less than $200

For those that don't know, Redmi is a subsidiary company that is owned by Xiaomi and acts as its budget smartphone line. There have been many smartphones released under the Redmi brand, with most of them being price-oriented.

Now, Redmi is adding another product to its line, its first ever tablet. The tablet is called the Redmi Pad and the most impressive thing about it is that it costs less than $200 with other tablets costing over $500.

Tablet was Announced After Rumors and Leaks

According to the story by Giz China, Redmi is officially entering the tablet market with the addition of the Redmi Pad. The announcement was first made in India after there have been many rumors and leaks regarding the brand's decision.

The Redmi Pad will officially be available to the international market meaning buyers from countries outside of China will finally have a shot at purchasing the new tablet. 

Specs Include a 2K Resolution and 90Hz Refresh Rate

The article notes that the body of the tablet is made of metal but has an aluminum frame and back to make things more comfortable. Aside from its materials, the article notes that the specs are already appealing for its price which was described as "reasonable."

The pad comes with a 2000 x 1200 pixel screen resolution and has a 90Hz refresh rate all on a screen with a 15:9 aspect ratio. The maximum brightness of the tablet is up to 400 nits.

The tablet also holds the record of being the first in India to ever be packing a particular processor, the MediaTek Helio G99 CPY. When it comes to its memory and RAM, the tablet is pretty standard with 128GB of internal storage and a RAM choice of either 4GB or 6GB.

The tablet reportedly packs an 8,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. There will also be an added 22.5W that comes along with the package when buyers purchase the Redmi Pad.

Tablet to Run on Both Android 12 OS and the MIUI 13

Redi will be offering what was described as two "significant Android upgrades" along with three years of promised security updates. Basically, the tablet is using the Android 12 OS as well as the MIUI 13 user interface to run.

As for its price, the Redmi Pad is selling for an approximate $184 for a 3GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage model. Another option would be the 4GB RAM, 128GB internal storage version for $220, and a 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage option for $245.

The tablet is expected to launch on October 6 and will be made available on the official Mi website, Flipkart, Mi Home shops, and even certain offline retailers located in India.
