Mercedes-Benz EV Sales Reaches 30,000 in the Third Quarter of 2022

As per the latest news story by Electrek, the renowned luxury carmaker has sold roughly 30,000 EVs from July to September.

It is worth mentioning that Mercedes-Benz also achieved impressive all-electric car sales in the second quarter (Q2) of 2022.

In fact, according to a report by Inside EVs, the German automaker sold 23,500 electric cars from April to June. And as such, Mercedes has successfully doubled its EV sales in Q2.

And this time, it looks like Benz is moving forward with more impressive EV sales as it expands its all-electric offerings.

Electrek notes in its report that the luxury carmaker sold roughly 115% more electric cars this third quarter than it did in the same period last year or 2021.

Not to mention that the overall vehicle sales of Mercedes had shot up by around 21% in the last three months.

The latest report from Electrive did the math and revealed that the Q3 EV sales of the renowned automaker are more than twice its deliveries in the same quarter last year.

It also turns out that its EV sales already hold roughly 5.8% of its overall vehicle sales. Meanwhile, its plug-in hybrid and Smart EV offerings capture around 14.7%. And the rest are still fuel-powered cars.

Seeger further adds that strong sales prevail despite that "challenging business environment - primarily defined by ongoing semiconductor shortages."
