The United States played a key role in hindering China from achieving its 5-year-goal to transform the country as a global technology leader, particularly with its massive growth in the industry. The recent Chinese Communist Party's 20th National Congress saw reports which were not favorable for the plans of the country and its president. 

China's growth towards technology saw a few significant roadblocks including several restrictions and bans, as well as its limited access to American technology on chips, 5G, and more.

The US Hindered China's Growth in the Tech Industry

CNBC reported that President Xi Jinping's latest speech to the Chinese Communist Party's 20th National Congress yielded mixed results for his goals to bring China's tech development to soar high. It is due to the United States' continued effort to ban products and development for China's use, and it surely brought a staggering effect on the Asian superpower.

In 2017, President Xi Jinping declared their goals to improve the country's tech and economic landscape by focusing on developments and innovation which will center on its growth. 

However, many issues and hindrances were present, leading to the decline in many of its projects.

China Still Faces US Restrictions for its Tech

Still, China was able to deliver many technologies for the country and its partners, as its first bullet train export for Indonesia recently arrived in the country for their use. On the other hand, Channel News Asia also details the upcoming high-speed railway it made for Bangkok. 

Despite the country's advancement, it still faces US restrictions that ban or prevent the country's access to certain needs, especially in developing supercomputers, AI, 5G, and an assortment of technology for the Chinese. 

The US and China's Relationship

The United States of America and China are two of the world's known superpowers who have their ways in the tech industry, seemingly in a race against each other to bring the top developments in the world. However, there are many restrictions from the US on China's access to technology, rendering the country unable to pursue its goals of creating supercomputers and AI developments. 

America also banned the export of Nvidia's products to China, hindering the country from using its technology and offers for its advancements.

It also means that citizens wanting to create their PCs and enjoy the many US products available also face these restrictions. 

Still, these restrictions do not stop China from developing its technology, particularly with many reports and claims regarding its goals to rise to the top and deliver technology that trumps the United States from its position. 

President Xi Jinping's latest speech saw mixed results for his 5-year-plan which he announced last 2017 for the tech advancements in the country and its goals of tech domination in the world. The latest National Congress to which the Chinese President addressed is still looking to develop said tech, even without US products or help.
