Hyundai's Upcoming Luxury Hotel is EV Powered

As per the latest report by Inside EVs, Hyundai has confirmed that it is opening a luxury pop-up hotel. But it is unlike your typical stay-ins as the automaker uses its EVs to power up the whole place.

The carmaker plans to showcase its all-new Ioniq 5 EV, specifically its vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature, which allows its users to use the all-electric car to light up homes.

Hyundai says that the pop-up hotel will only be open for a limited time, as long as three weeks.

Inside EVs reports that the renowned automaker has partnered up with the English broadcaster Grace Dent.

It turns out that the idea of an EV-powered pop-up hotel comes after a recent survey showed that more people prefer to go into staycations in 2023.

The survey shows that 44 percent of the participants would rather go into staycations. On top of that, more than half of them, or roughly 55 percent, are rethinking their plans for the holidays given that the living costs these days have immensely skyrocketed.

The upcoming luxury hotel is opening next year or in 2023 in Essex, English. However, the giant automaker has already opened reservations for it, according to a recent news story by Electrek.

Besides the EV charging facility, the hotel offers a cabin suite to its guests, which includes a shower and a kettle. And, you guessed it, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is set to power all of these.

The upcoming EV-powered hotel also provides a restaurant that strictly serves locally sourced food to its customers. The concept also flaunts a coffee lounge, and your espresso will be brewed thanks to the power the Hyundai electric car provides.

Apart from these usual hotel amenities, the pop-up features a private cinema. And, of course, the Ioniq 5 lights up the massive projector as viewers sit back to enjoy their favorite movies. Not to mention that the electric car also powers the popcorn machine and the speakers.
