No Phones Needed

In an upcoming update, Xbox users will now be able to connect directly to call-in servers without using their mobile devices, as reported by The Verge. The removal of this process will make its users change their perspective using Discord on their consoles as it will be easier for them to connect to different servers and communicate with their teammates.

As per the report, users who enrolled in the Alpha Ring of the Xbox Insider Program can access this whole new feature, and it will roll out soon once the testing has been concluded. Aside from ditching mobile devices, Discord on Xbox allows users to browse all voice channels across all the servers that they are in.

The only catch to this newly implemented convenience is that in direct calls, users are still required to use the mobile application for it to function. Aside from this, text channels are also not accessible via Xbox. As per Gameranx, these limitations might be gone once this feature is publicly released but this decision is still unsure.

"It's important we note that some updates made in these preview OS builds include background improvements that ensure a quality and stable build for Xbox consoles," Xbox noted on their website as they presented the released notes for testing.

Xbox Insider Release Notes - Alpha

Alpha users can also expect other update previews alongside the Discord update. One of them is the new playback editing application 'Capture and Share', which allows players to edit their gameplay in the console. This will be accessible through Guide and My Games & Apps.

New yet familiar functionality will be existing in this app as it features an updated UI and performance that was improved by the developers. This will also allow users to copy their local capture to their external drive once the editing has been done.

Live streaming on Twitch is also updated. Users can now stream from the guide with the use of their subscription to Lightstream or Streamlabs. Linking their accounts to Twitch is required to do for them to access this new feature.

When it comes to language, Xbox also added "Ukrainian" for users to select as the console display language. They stated on their website that if any of the users or developers see any unlocalized strings or incorrect translations from the console, filing feedback or reporting it to Xbox directly will be appreciated.
