According to a report by 9to5Mac, Ikea has confirmed that the Dirigera smart home hub will be available for in-store pick-up in the US starting next month. It will be priced at $69.

Aside from that, the company also announced that this smart hub will come with hardware which is supported by Matter.

"The next step on the journey to enable a better everyday life for the many people and a smarter living is to launch the Matter ready hub for smart products DIRIGERA. With its new software, DIRIGERA is built to handle more product segments and onboard more products than the existing TRÅDFRI gateway. It also enables the new and more user-friendly IKEA Home smart app," Ikea says.

Dirigera on Ikea's Other Listings

The announcement about the Dirigera smart hub was first heard back in May. At that time, many reports said that it would be available by October. However, it did not happen as planned.

Before it officially comes to the US in the next few weeks, 9to5Mac wrote that it's previously listed in Ikea's German website. It was indicated there that it is priced at 59.99€ or roughly $59.

Meanwhile, the Norwegian site hinted about its November release. However, it did not specify the date of its launch for the said month.

Is it Coming With Apple HomeKit Support?

According to Ikea, the Matter-ready Dirigera will be equipped with Apple HomeKit support. Right from the get-go, it's slated to have this feature to support more smart home products in the future.

As for Matter, it aims to bring a seamless experience to all users of a smart home device. With this support, it's easier, more convenient, and more reliable to use the Homekit platform.

Ikea says that its Dirigera hub will have connectivity features including Zigbee, Thread radios, and Wi-Fi. There's also an Ethernet port and USB-C port located at the rear part of the device.
