These controllers are yet another enjoyable way for players to enjoy games from Nintendo's previous systems, which are available as part of Nintendo Online and its Expansion Pack add-on service. Reports say that the same is likely true of the NES and Sega Genesis controllers, but these are as yet unconfirmed.

The Verge informs us that Nintendo initially made its retro controllers usable with its Switch Online service, which offers access to a variety of SNES and NES game collections. In addition to the $3.99 per month Switch Online subscription, it also provides a library of N64 games, but access to it costs an additional $49.99 for a full year.

Apple and Third-Party Controllers

According to MacStories, Apple has gradually increased the depth of its support for third-party controllers over the past few years. The Nintendo Joy-Con and Pro Controller are the most recent official additions, which were first revealed at WWDC.

During the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2022, Apple unveiled the completely revamped iOS 16, which comes with new, impressive features and enhancements. Nintendo's Joy-Cons and Pro Controller were among the game controllers that iOS 16 previously added support for.

The Apple mobile operating system has some improvements for gaming in this version. It displays updates to the Metal API as well as a revamp of its Game Center. Additionally, it significantly broadens the support for game controllers, which already extends to Microsoft's Xbox and Sony's PlayStation controllers.
