Notion launched a new feature on Wednesday, Nov. 16, in beta called Notion AI, which CEO Ivan Zhao claims has the potential to revolutionize how people utilize the app and carry out their daily tasks.

Simply input your requirements into Notion AI's interface and watch as the program generates the content in real-time.

You can get anything from a blog post to a professional email template to a list of recommended books for entrepreneurs to a social media update to a poem and even some assistance coming up with ideas!

The Future Notion Will Write Your Content for You

Zhao told The Verge that writing is the primary use for Notion AI.

Drafting is essential for many tasks, both mundane (like writing job descriptions) and novel (like writing blog posts or brainstorming new ideas). In both scenarios, Zhao believes Notion AI may be helpful.

While it will not produce a piece worthy of publication, Notion AI may help you get beyond the awkward "first draft" stage and onto the more fruitful "improved and polished" part.

The latest release is not so much of a new product as it is a private alpha of a brand-new product. The firm intends to gradually expand its access over time, but it is eager to get it into users' hands as soon as possible.

The Notion AI waiting list has been opened, and the service will first be available to product ambassadors before expanding to the general public.

Zhao believes this is the time for generative AI to emerge from the realm of cool research toys to practical user functions.

The Science Behind AI-powered Writing Tools

To organize your own data, Notion uses the same broad language models that businesses like Google are beginning to build into search results.

Of course, there are a number of AI-powered writing tools already available, such as Grammarly and Jasper. Google's new Wordcraft is another option, too.

All of these programs are quickly advancing due to the use of massive language models. These models provide computers with a broader knowledge of the context around a given text, allowing them to better interpret phrases and paragraphs rather than just words.

Here's How it Goes

The Verge tried Notion AI. According to the article, creating a new page gives you new options.

Aside from an empty page, other selections include generating content for blog posts, pros and cons lists, outlines, to-do lists, meeting agendas, and sales emails.

Notion automatically fills the page when you type a prompt and click "Generate." Keep it if you like the result. If not, try a different prompt or click "Try Again."

When asked for a blog article on the smartwatch market, Notion AI is on the right track conceptually. However, it makes some factual errors.

Though, it is understandable and expected since technology is still a long way from being perfect.
