Ryan Roslansky, the CEO of LinkedIn, is prepping for growth in various markets, such as India, despite the rising number of hiring freezers globally, according to Bloomberg.

Unbeknownst to some, India is the fastest-growing market of LinkedIn due to the increasing number of companies and advertisers that use the platform. Moreover, sales in the country have risen by 50%.

Thus, the company is exploring growth opportunities outside the US. A huge chunk of the social networking site's growth is outside the US, and new members are joining the site, such as India, Western Europe, and Indonesia. However, LinkedIn has also paused hiring to prepare for the future.

Coming to LinkedIn

With mass layoffs from big companies, LinkedIn has emerged as the go-to place for those who have been laid off recently. They use the platform to share their side of the story, while some are looking for new jobs and opportunities.

According to Roslansky, "There's something really special that's going on right now in India."

Compared to the rest of the world, people in India continue to upskill, such as the country's financial analysts, who ensure their skills are up to date on their profiles. Recruiters in the country are also keen to look into these skills when recruiting.

This isn't the first time because the platform has seen growth in the country for years. And it doesn't seem like it's stopping any time soon. In fact, even during the global pandemic, the platform has seen "record" levels of engagement in India.

In addition, the platform announced the India leg of its global Creator Accelerator Program, a ten-week incubator-style initiative to support 200 creators to grow their communities on LinkedIn. Furthermore, the company will continue investing in expanding in the country.

For sure, India is one of the markets to watch out for in the coming years, especially in terms of this particular industry. As top executives and recruiters in India realize the benefits that LinkedIn offers, they will utilize the platform to its fullest as they look for and recruit new talent.

The LinkedIn platform is open, so the company has no plans to close the platform in any country. They are also bolstering their efforts to get the most from the platform and keep the users engaged. And with a massive user base in India, it seems like the platform will be successful in the coming months.

When it comes to the rise of hiring freezes and layoffs, LinkedIn is one of the companies that is trying to make the most out of the situation. With Indian professionals updating their skills, recruiters will be more inclined to hire them.

Although India isn't the only country to see growth, it's one of the highest. And with professionals in India using the platform more than ever, it's likely that India will become one of the biggest markets for LinkedIn in the years to come.
