Apple is very close to purchasing the copyright to publish Michael Lewis' book on the downfall of FTX king Sam Bankman-Fried, according to Deadline's sources.
The author of Moneyball, The Big Short, and The Blind Side lived with the troubled businessman for six months before everything went to hell.
On the Big Screen
Deadline reported that when the purchase is finalized for a price that is said to be in the middle of seven figures, streaming service Apple TV+ will have triumphed over significant competition for the project from companies such as Netflix and Amazon.
It is anticipated to be adapted into a movie. Rumor has it that Adam McKay could possibly join the crew in the future. He adapted Michael Lewis' The Big Short.
A lot of it is occurring as it is happening. Insiders have claimed they did not think there was much to sell beyond the topic and the promise of a profound dive by a writer who is the master of converting complex financial problems into A-list entertainment.
The previous week, rumors said that other companies and personalities, such as Amazon Studios, David Heyman, the writer Wells Tower, and David Yates, as well as Netflix with David Fincher and Sugar23 with Josh Gad, were interested in the idea.
The FTX King
Before the collapse of the cryptocurrency corporation FTX earlier this month, Bankman-Fried served as its CEO. At one time, it was estimated that his assets were worth up to $26 billion.

As per Deadline's report, Lewis plans to write a book that attempts to explain what happened at the firm.

The book by Lewis is one of several works that have been done on the subject, said Deadline.
Andrew Ross Sorkin, a staff writer for The New York Times who has written extensively about the FTX saga, is working on a project with Scott Burns and Jonathan Glickman's Panoramic.
Graham Moore, the Oscar-winning writer behind the Benedict Cumberbatch film The Imitation Game, has announced his intention to work with the adaptation of New York Magazine's in-depth investigation of the fiasco into a screenplay.
This topic will definitely get more attention in the future.
