My Pillow CEO was Banned from Twitter in 2021 and has Not Been Reinstated Since Then

An article by Business Insider shares that the company struggles to retain advertisers, saying it has lost half of its top 100 advertisers as per MediaMatters. My Pillow CEO Lindell was banned from Twitter in 2021 over reported election misinformation.

His account reappeared briefly in May but was yet again suspended after he violated the evasion policy of Twitter. Lindell's Twitter account has not been included in the group of accounts that Elon Musk reinstated.

Advertisers Accounted for About $2 Billion in Spending on Twitter Since 2020

As per the report, the advertisers accounted for about $2 billion in spending on Twitter since 2020. This meant over $750 million in advertising from advertisers in 2022 alone. 

Stephen King reportedly mocked Musk regarding his decision to have the Twitter account of former US president Donald Trump reinstated. The author tweeted, "speaking of bad jokes, Elon Musk says Trump can get back on Twitter."

The Author's Initial Criticisms Came When the Twitter CEO Decided to Charge for Verification

The author first criticized the new Twitter CEO's decisions when he announced plans to charge users for Twitter verification. He stated that he preferred the platform during the "pre-Musk days."

King reportedly said that before Musk took over Twitter, there was "less controversy" and "more fun." Despite this, Musk replied that he was still a fan of King's work in a now-deleted tweet as per Business Insider.
