Apple iPhone 14 Pro series, which sports the new Dynamic Island design, continues to face a massive shortage.

And this time, it has gotten worse than it initially seemed. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo disclosed that the high-end iPhone might see lesser shipments than earlier expected this coming holiday season.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Shortage is Worse Than Expected

The Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max shortage during the holidays is now inevitable.

 So its supplies this coming shopping season are expected to be quite rarer than in the past months.

As per the latest report by The Verge, the shortage of higher-end iPhones is due to the COVID-19 lockdowns in China. Not to mention the labor protests at the factory where these flagship devices are assembled.

The online news outlet notes that Apple is likely to ship 20 percent fewer iPhone 14 Pro models than initially expected for the last quarter of the year.

However, with these unprecedented incidents at the production location of these smartphones, it might be worse than initially expected.

Early this week reports estimated that Apple is likely shipping roughly 6 million lesser iPhone units amid the COVID lockdowns and protests.

However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that it is way worse than that.

Shipments Might Be Down by 15-20 Million Kuo Says

Kuo now predicts that the iPhone 14 Pro shipments are potentially down between 15 to 20 million units.

According to a news story by GSM Arena, the Apple analyst estimates that the giant phone maker will be shipping around 70 to 75 million higher-end iPhones this holiday season.

Kuo notes that these numbers are 15 to 20 million less than previous estimates. He points out in his recent tweet that the massive decrease in shipments is due to the "Zhengzhou iPhone plant labor protests."

Lower iPhone Revenue for Apple?

GSM Arena notes in its story that given that these higher-end devices start at roughly $1,000, the lower shipments lead to a significant downfall in the revenue of the tech giant.

The Verge reports that the analyst estimates that the iPhone maker will earn 20-30 percent lower in its fourth-quarter earnings due to the pushback.

While Apple is on track to lose money, customers might have to wait a little longer before they could get their hands on the latest iPhone. And it might not arrive in time for Christmas if you are planning to buy it now.
