The Valo Hyperfoil

The Valo Hyperfoil runs on 108 hp motor, but it can reach a maximum speed of 50 knots, while it flies two feet above the water's surface. One of the best things about Valo is it is powerful but silent that is a game-changer in water-based mobility today.

What makes the Valo unique is its hydrofoils that works like airplane wings under water. The hydrofoils lift the watercraft out of the dense water, while also helping it to save energy as it flies through the air. As a result, you get a smoother, faster, and more efficient ride. In addition, it can get by with fewer batteries.

Hydrofoiling Boats

Hydrofoils are not new in watercrafts, nor are they new in boats, as hydrofoils have been on the market for decades.

At that time, hydrofoils were often used in Navy ships. Their utility was due to the quicker response time to threats and the ability to break through ocean waves which was very helpful in certain areas of the world.

Although hydrofoils were not actually used as a means of transportation, it was still a very exciting development in the maritime world. It was also quite expensive.

However, it was not until the late 1980s when hydrofoils made its way to personal watercrafts. It was mostly used by the military and by sailboat enthusiasts. It was not until the following decades that it became part of recreational watercrafts.

Now, hydrofoils are being used in boats, watercraft, and even automobiles. There are now commercial versions of these hydrofoil motorboats available in the market.

Valo is claimed to be the first ever fully-electric hydrofoil watercraft.

What is a Hydrofoil?

A hydrofoil is a form of foil used in boats and watercrafts. It is more efficient than propellers in water, as it is less likely to be affected by water resistance.

Propellers, on the other hand, are designed to work in water, but can be easily foiled by water resistance. With hydrofoils, there will be less resistance, which leads to smoother and more efficient rides.

A hydrofoil will also produce more speed than an ordinary propeller. If you are a jetski enthusiast and you are tired of loud and polluting watercrafts, then the Valo may be a good choice for you.

Valo brings in a new era of water based mobility that is both reliable and efficient. Plus, it is also easier on the environment, so it is a win-win for water transport. Moreover, it is also a water-based alternative for electric vehicles.
