Qualcomm launched the world's most advanced public Wi-Fi 7 network system, enabling enterprise-level, home mesh network products and operator gateways. This week, Qualcomm released the latest Wi-Fi 7 home network system.

The New Qualcomm System Expected to be Available to the Public in the Second Half of 2023

According to the story by Giz China, this new system promises faster speeds, higher throughput, and lower latency. It is expected to be available to the public in the second half of 2023.

Qualcomm's cost-effective, energy-efficient, and small form factor chip architecture can deliver more than 15-20Gbps of total system capacity for today's tech-heavy homes. It also supports high-performance devices that are becoming more and more popular.

Qualcomm Multi-Link Mesh Technology Used for the System

The system utilizes Qualcomm Multi-Link Mesh technology, introducing a new way to connect home networks. Using a tri-band system, consumers can access the most recent advancements of Wi-Fi 7, as further detailed in an article by PC Mag.

This powerful home network system borrows from the same architecture of the more widely-used Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 professional network system. The system will be supported by Wi-Fi 7 technology offering an extended 5GHz spectrum performance that runs on a 240MHz channel with up to 4K QAM modulation tech.

The New System Is Estimated to Function 80% Faster Than WiFi 6

It will provide up to 80% faster throughput than Wi-Fi 6. In addition to the 5GHz band, the system will be supported by the 6GHz band providing 140% higher throughput than Wi-Fi 6E - running on a 320MHz channel with 4K QAM modulation tech.

Qualcomm Auto Frequency Control technology will optimize the use of the 6GHz band, providing multi-gigabit network coverage across the entire home. Advanced intelligent congestion avoidance algorithms ensure excellent performance in crowded home network environments.

Qualcomm WiFi 7 Speeds Reach Up to 5.8 Gbps from a Single Network Endpoint

Consumers with the latest Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 home network system can enjoy peak speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps from a single network endpoint. The total peak wireless capacity of the tri-band Wi-Fi 7 system ranges from 10 Gbps to 20 Gbps, as further detailed in an article by IT Home - an impressive performance nearly double that of comparable Wi-Fi 6 systems.

Designers have ensured the system is cost-effective, small form factor, and energy-efficient, making the system easier for ordinary customers to access. However, radio frequency front end (RFFE) technology presents a challenge with performing stable and high-speed connections of 30 - 40Gbps.

WiFi 7 Home Network Expected to Launch in Second Half of 2023

According to Yole's RF front-end market statistics, the share of RF front-end chips related to Wi-Fi devices accounts for only 15% of the market, while the share of mobile and cellular devices accounts for 80%. As the advancement of Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 spreads, the importance of RF front-end technology will continue to grow.

Qualcomm has done an impressive job designing the new wireless home network system. With the launch, consumers can look forward to enjoying faster speeds and higher network throughput in their homes. The release of the Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 home network system is expected within the second half of 2023.
