If you have not heard, a famous game booted "God of War: Ragnarök" out of the second spot in the Metacritic list for the Best Games of 2022, and it was done by a fairly old game. Despite being a 7-year-old game, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" still experiences massive success now, and it is because of the recent PS5 port availability of the game.

Browsing Metacritic's list of Best PlayStation Games of the Year for 2022 shows that "God of War: Ragnarök" moving down another spot, as the first one was taken by FromSoftware, Hidetaka Miyazaki, and George R.R. Martin's "Elden Ring."

However, it was not the only one to steal its thunder, as "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's" recent release for the PlayStation 5 also puts it back on the charts, taking the second spot.

With a 94 score on Metacritic, "The Witcher 3's" newfound success can still be attributed to the 2015's masterpiece from CD Projekt Red. It is still the game's same version from the release, one that gamers highly rank for its modern gaming console experience.

And while "God of War 5" got the same score on Metacritic, it is listed below "Wild Hunt," suggesting that it got a lower rank.

PS5's 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' Port

CDPR decided to upgrade its 2015 AAA-rated game to adapt to modern gaming consoles to feature 60fps and other immersive experiences for "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" which was released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X last December 14.

It saw massive success on these new platforms, delivering its complete edition for people to enjoy in the present.

CDPR's 'The Witcher'

CD Projekt Red still has many plans for "The Witcher" franchise, and while the games are not yet coming anytime soon, it still delivers one of the top experiences despite its age. The last game from CDPR is "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" from its main series of the franchise, delivering the penultimate story to Geralt of Rivia's character.

The 2015-released game is one of the most famous titles from the franchise and that year's release, with gamers still enjoying it until the present.

There are still future projects intended for the franchise, with CD Projekt Red revealing its plans for "The Witcher 5" and "The Witcher 6" installments.

However, this release from the company left massive questions about "The Witcher 4" which the company did not mention as much as the fifth and sixth games.

With future games already part of the company's plans to develop soon, the world is left with past games to enjoy and re-experience the epic from this Polish masterpiece. "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's" latest release pieces together the arrival of the omen of disaster, the so-called horde of spectres, who made a hit on "God of War: Ragnarök" on the PS5.
