Phil Marciniak, a YouTuber living in Saanich, British Columbia, is quite knowledgeable about electric bikes.

This is because he is a repairman at an appliance store who uses an electric cargo bike.

The work e-bike is also modified by the man so that he can use it to carry tools and other things needed for his work.

He decided to modify it again, making it into a DIY e-bike snow plow.

This is not the first time he has done this to his electric bike. In 2021, he also attached a front-mounted plow so that he could clear his path.

In his latest modification, he decided to use two shovels. He angled them outward so they could scoop away the annoying snow on the road and sidewalks.

He said that his latest DIY e-bike snow plow works pretty well.

Other Details of the DIY E-Bike Snow Plow

Electrek reported that Marciniak used a 200L polythylene rainwater barrel to create the two shovels.

He also used scrap plywood to attach these barrel shovels onto his bike. His modification doesn't really affect the performance of his e-bike.

Although two it already has two shovels on its front, the electric bike can still reach around 20 km/h.

"The plow is easy to install and you can ride to your destination then drop the blade down and start plowing!" said the YouTuber.

His DIY snow plow works in snow depths of around 10 cm to 15 cm. But, when he tried to clear a path in a snow depth of 30 cm, he didn't succeed.

Aside from this, the cargo container of the e-bike also allows it to be more stable.

More and more individuals are finding different ways how to benefit from electric e-bikes.

Because of this, many countries are starting to embrace this zero-emission vehicle.

Recently, we reported that France decided to give a $4,000 e-bike incentive to those willing to trade their conventional vehicles.

A previous study also claimed that e-bikes are more attractive than electric cars.
