Apple iPhone 15 Ultra Might Get a New Periscope Zoom Lens

As per a recent report by Phone Arena, Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 Ultra is likely to get a massive upgrade on its zoom lens, which could outperform other phone makers, including the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Gone are the days when using the zoom option on a smartphone camera automatically ruins the overall quality. These days, some flagship devices offer zoom features that provide high-quality images. While phone makers like Google use software to zoom without taking completely blurry photos.

Phone Arena notes in its report that Sony is reportedly planning to use an LG zoom lens for its all-new Xperia 1 V. It should allow the new phone to offer three to five times optical zoom.

The new LG zoom solution will help phone makers keep their mobile devices astonishingly thin as the South Korean tech giant plans to make them compact. But despite that, the new lens is expected to offer more close-up range.

But on top of that, Phone Arena notes that Apple is reportedly teaming up with LG Innotek to improve the zoom system of the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup.

The online news outlet suggests that the partnership between Apple and LG is bringing the iPhone 15 Ultra's zoom camera to the next level.

The upcoming top-of-the-line iPhone 15 is likely to flaunt a new groundbreaking zoom lens from LG, which uses a periscope mirror to bring optical zoom.

It could likely support up to nine times zoom without relying on software. Not to mention that the South Korean firm is bringing optical stabilization to prevent taking completely blurry photos while on zoom.

However, it is worth noting that these are mere speculations of recent rumors pointing to the partnership of Apple and LG for the cameras of the iPhone 15 series.

The Cupertino giant has yet to announce the camera system of its next-generation flagship phone. So until then, we could only rely on rumors and leaks.
