Bondee's alleged scam is now concerning many users.

Twitter Error

The alleged thefts are quite worrying since Bondee is gaining more fans in Asia.

For those unfamiliar with Bondee, it is a new social networking app that allows users to have their avatars.

However, many people are now hesitant because many users claim the rising social media app scammed them.

Bondee's Alleged Scam Update

According to The Straits Times' latest report, many users claim Bondee misused their credit card information.

Some posted screenshots showing unauthorized bank transfers, which they believed happened after installing the new social media application.

Now, Metadream, the company behind Bondee, denied the scam rumors.

NME reported that Metadream posted on its official Instagram account on Friday, Jan. 27, to defend its app.

"Metadream does not currently collect users' credit card information or any other financial information," said the company.

Metadream added that they had already reviewed their systems. Thankfully, users' personal data remains safe and secured, as claimed by the company.

What Can Bondee Acquire From You?

Bondee is available both on Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

If you search for Bondee, you will see that the developer doesn't share user data with other companies or organizations.

Of course, it can still legally access some of your personal details. These include the following:

  • Personal information (mobile number, user IDS, etc.)
  • In-app messages.
  • Photos and videos
  • Voice or sound recordings

App activity (app interactions, in-app search history, and other similar information)

Device or other IDs

All this user information can be accessed by Bondee legally. But you can secure some of them by restricting the app.

You can do this by visiting your Settings. After that, go to your App Management and look for Bondee.

Once you are there, you need to click the Permissions option. Then, toggle off the information you want to protect.

Since Metadream already clarified that its system and user data are safe from any scam, you can be at ease.

If you are still worried about your information but want to try the new Bondee app, the best thing you can do is avoid making in-app purchases.

As Metadream stated, its rising social networking app doesn't collect bank information from its users.

While Bondee's alleged scam has been clarified, other social media platforms and games experienced real security breaches.
