GMC's first-ever 2024 all-electric Hummer SUV has sold for a whopping $500,000 in a recent auction.
Although the first Hummer EV SUV sold for a hefty amount, it is way cheaper than the first Hummer EV pickup.

GMC's First 2024 Hummer SUV EV Sold
The first-ever produced 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV fetched a cool $500,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction, Inside EVs reports.
The global vice president of GMC and Buick, Duncan Aldred, says that the proceeds of the Hummer EV SUV are going to a non-profit organization, Tread Lightly!
Inside EVs notes that the full amount of the auction price is going to the beneficiary as the auction house Barrett-Jackson has decided to ditch the fees and commissions for this sale.
The GMC global vice president says that "We're proud to support Tread Lightly! and their mission through the monumental sale of VIN 001 of the GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV at Barrett-Jackson."
It should be noted that "Tread Lightly" seeks to promote outdoor recreation via its educational and stewardship programs. Aldred adds that "proceeds will support 'Tread Lightly' and their mission of environmental conservation."
Given that, the proceeds from the GMC Hummer SUV auction seek to support the educational and environmental restoration programs of the non-profit group.
First Hummer EV SUV Sells $2 Million Less Than First Electric Pickup
According to a report by The Drive, the auction price of the first-ever 2024 Hummer EV SUV is significantly lower than the cost of the first all-electric GMC pickup.

The motoring outlet reports that the first Hummer EV pickup fetched a staggering $2.5 million when it was auctioned in March 2021.
But this time, the new Hummer EV SUV sold $2 million less than its pickup counterpart. So the buyer of the 2024 EV got the previous first edition.
But it is worth mentioning that the $500,000 price of the Hummer EV SUV is still relatively expensive. In fact, it is actually five times the starting price of the upcoming all-electric vehicle.

2024 Hummer EV SUV Starts Production
The auction of the first 2024 Hummer EV SUV marks the beginning of its production. As per a news story by Electrek, GMC closed off its reservations last September, as it reached 90,000 customers.
And now, the American automaker has started the production of its 2024 Hummer EV SUV. It comes as customers of the upcoming EV are awaiting its shipments for the first quarter of 2023.
