It has been a month since the initial offering of NFL's Sunday Ticket on YouTube and YouTube TV, but there are more plans in this new platform, particularly with a cheaper subscription in the future. Enjoying football games would soon give users a more flexible experience, one that would feature fewer games for the casual audience.

This remains a possible venture in the future, but it may mean something other than that it is confirmed to arrive on the new NFL Sunday Ticket home via YouTube.

The Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast recently invited NFL's chief media and business officer, Brian Rolapp, to discuss the latest happenings in the League. One of its central topics was the NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube and YouTube TV, particularly a new subscription tier that would be different from its regular offerings.

According to the interview, the company is considering a new subscription tier that would make the experience lighter because fewer games will bees offered.

However, there are still many things that it needs to do before this arrives, and this rough draft would be something it would study and evaluate.

What will a Cheaper Subscription Mean for NFL?

9to5 Google said that this cheaper subscription would be for the lighter experience of the Sunday Ticket rather than the present experience where it brings many games in a day.

Rolapp said it will also look into a team-based focus for this new subscription tier but is still being determined on his claims in the interview.

The cheaper subscription aims to deliver the NFL games without the overwhelming experience of the regular Sunday Ticket.

NFL and its Multimedia Presence

Towards the end of December, NFL was already nearing its decision to move the Sunday Ticket elsewhere after its streaming service began with DirecTV in 1994 and has not left since. For 28 years, people flocked to DirecTV for their NFL Sunday Ticket subscription via the famous cable company, but that now changes to utilizing an app for the experience.

One of the most famous companies aimed to secure the Sunday Ticket on their streaming platforms, and for the longest time, the company has been in talks with the League.

However, it took a turn last December when there were speculations that NFL is leaning more towards Google and YouTube to be its new home.

With a dedicated app for statistics, information, news, and game clips, NFL built itself mainly on the media, where people may get a front seat and backstage experience with American football. With YouTube and YouTube TV getting Sunday Ticket, it considers that there are casual viewers along the mix and would want a lighter experience, one that it is now looking into.
