Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 screens are cracking all of a sudden, some of its users are now reporting.
It has been more than a year since the South Korean phone maker debuted the Galaxy Fold 3. Despite that, some users are still clinging to the older generation foldable, and others are reporting that the display of the device showed a crack out of nowhere.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 Screen Crack
As per a recent report by Phone Arena, the warranty for most Galaxy Z Fold 3 devices is now expired, as Samsung debuted the phone back in 2021.
Given that, some users are now complaining that the screen on their foldable phone started to show a crack. And now that their device is out of warranty, they would have to pay for its replacement if they really want to have it replaced.
A Samsung foldable phone user, who goes by the name "Snoo" on Reddit, said that the internal screen on his Z Fold 3 also had a crack despite "careful ownership."
Phone Arena notes that the renowned phone maker asked one Galaxy Z Fold 3 user to have the display of her phone fixed at UBreakiFix. Samsung reportedly disclosed that the cost of replacing the huge stunning display goes as high as $800.
The Z Fold 3 user claims that she did not drop the phone, yet the foldable device still had a crack.
Phone Arena notes in its report that the price to repair the screen alone already covers 73% of the original pricing of the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
With the warranty, Samsung typically offers a free screen replacement depending on the condition of the device. However, now that it is expired, users allegedly see random cracks
on their foldable phones now have to pay for their repair.
It is worth noting that the South Korean phone maker still supports its 2021 foldable. In fact, Samsung recently rolled out the January 2023 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 3.

New Galaxy Z Fold 3 Update
According to a story by Sam Mobile, the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 firmware update carries the version number F926BXXS2DWA3.
The latest release comes with a few security and bug fixes and the full January 2023 security patch. On top of that, the Z Fold 3 update might also bring some performance improvements to the device.
To get your hands on the latest update on your Galaxy Z Fold 3, you only have to follow these steps. Go to the "Settings" app on your phone. Then, select "Software update" and tap the "Download and install" button.
