Basedash Creates Dockhunt For Mac Users: See More Apps By Just Exploring Docks

Basedash, a startup specializing in creating databases for companies, has recently developed its own app called Dockhunt.

The app is designed for Mac users who want to explore more applications on the platform just by looking at docks. It allows users to share their Mac docks so others can discover something new about them.

Basically, it's still a work in progress, but it's great to hear that it has a lot of potential for those who want to check what's trending and most talked about on a particular site.

Explore New Apps With Dockhunt

If you want to look for the newest apps on the web, your go-to place might be Reddit or even Product Hunt. These sites have one of the best communities you can ever find on the internet.

There are other people who accidentally discover apps within an app. It's a matter of endless searching and diving into app groups.

According to TechCrunch, there's another way where users, particularly those with Mac devices, can find new software. By merely hovering over their dock, they can now see other available options.

Dockhunt is a good site for apps that you can browse over docks. According to the engineers at Basedash, they are planning to launch a filter feature for users who want to explore "indie" apps outside the mainstream selections, such as Spotify, Slack, and Google Chrome.

How to Add Dock on Dockhunt

According to 9to5Mac's previous report, there are two various options on how you can add a dock to the website.

The first method is by downloading the official desktop app of Dockhunt on your Mac device. After installing it, you can now open it to get started. Later, you can add your dock to the site.

You have another option that you can do on Dockhunt. You can simply input the command "npx dockhunt" in the Terminal app. Just make sure that your Mac has a Node.js.

It should be noted that everything you can see on the site is open-source. If you want to search for them, you can go to Github through this link.

You can get a unique URL right away after sharing the dock on social media from the Dockhunt website. This app is also a great way to remind users about the apps that they have forgotten for a little while.
