Amazon is dropping its first PS5 restock of the year after some months of being idle. However, it will remain accessible via invite system only.

For the past years, retailers have felt the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the stores closed while some changed plans to keep their hopes alive.

In the US alone, customers struggled to snag PlayStation 5 because finding one at RSP remains to be a huge hurdle. Another problem that makes console hunting much harder is the global semiconductor shortage that is hitting even the biggest tech companies in the world.

Now that COVID-19 restrictions are slowly easing up in some parts of the globe, console selling is now returning to normal. The likes of Amazon and Target now resume their operations after overcoming the impact of the pandemic.

According to a report by GamesRadar, the Seattle e-commerce giant is opening its door to PS5 buyers after rolling out the first-ever console restock of 2023.

This is a good sign that the drought is finally over for PlayStation 5. However, it appears that there's only one way to get this console.

How to Score a PS5 on Amazon

To get a PlayStation 5 on Amazon, you will be required to sign up for the invitation system. Every person who will join this will have the chance to snag a console.

Receiving an email won't guarantee that you can get PS5. It only increases your chances of buying it from the store.

Don't forget to immediately add PS5 to your cart before anything else. Make sure to input all your important information into your account.

Currently, the console costs $499.99. It's a great deal if you want to get hold of it as soon as possible. However, if you have the luxury of time to wait for discounts, that would be a better option.

PS5 Pro Rumors Might Be True

PlayStation 5 has been existing for more than two years yet some people think that Sony will soon replace it with a more powerful console in the form of PS5 Pro.

According to Screenrant, the rumored console will have a higher price than the standard PS5. Since it's an upgrade, it's reasonable why Sony will pump the price for this upcoming model.

The report also suggests that it could be bigger than the current PS5 unit. If this is true, players might need to think about its ideal storage for home entertainment.

Tech insiders claim that PS5 Pro could likely launch in late 2023. If it does not come this year, it might be released in the following year, according to TCL.

In the meantime, Sony is reportedly working on a gaming headset for PS5 under the "Project Nomad" codename. The earbuds might feature a close design to Apple's AirPods, according to ComicBook.
