Microsoft is continually working to improve its Win11 system, and they have recently announced some new features they are adding, including support for VHD and VHDX hard disks. The company will also add a new "Home" page and enhance its keyboard choices.

New Features and Enhancements to the Win11 System Settings Program

Microsoft has announced updates to Win11 - the Windows 11 system settings program - including new features such as support for VHD and VHDX hard disks, a new Home page, and enhanced keyboard choices.

The Win11 system will receive updates that enable users to make a virtual hard drive (VHD) in the settings app. Microsoft is deeply integrating this feature with the Win11 system, allowing users to create fixed/dynamic VHDs up to 2TB and VHDXs with power loss protection up to 64TB.

Enhance Login and Starting Screens with ViveTool Tool

According to the story by Giz China, users can also choose between the GPT and MBR partition styles. The Keyboard area will also be improved, allowing users to change the primary keyboard on the login and starting screens and the sequence of the languages in the input language popup.

These updates can be enabled by using the ViveTool tool. After getting the Vivetool tool from Github, users must extract it to a folder and designate that folder location. They must then find the subdirectory from the start menu and run the command line with administrator privileges.

Using the 'cd command' to Enable the New Home Page in Win11 Settings

Afterward, the process is just a matter of using the "cd command" and typing in "Vivetool /enable /id:34912776". Apart from the VHD and VHDX hard disk support, the new Home page will be a welcome addition to the Win11 Settings program, as noted in an IT Home article.

Details are still sparse on what content the Home page will include, though hopefully, Microsoft can elaborate more on this once the feature has been tested. The Presence area, another addition coming to Win11, will let users know whether they are in front of the computer.

New Feature: Device RGB Lighting Management and Live Subtitles Support

People with certain computers have sensors that can automatically wake the computer when users walk up to them, and put them to sleep when they're gone. Though the connection to such sensors is still unconfirmed, this new feature definitely looks very promising.

Microsoft also appears to be testing the Win11 Build 22624.1390 update and the included KB5023011 and enablement package KB5023595. This upcoming update is believed to bring built-in device RGB lighting management; Live subtitles support for more languages, and more.

Uncovering the Potential of Win11 with the Moment 3 Update

According to reports from VideoCardz, Windows 11 will bring a general-purpose RGB lighting effect control function that requires no additional control software to be installed. The Win11 system is shaping into a major update with useful features that users will surely appreciate.

With the Win11 Moment 3 update expected to be released soon, the wait may be a little while before we fully experience the potential of Win11.
