Suing Twitter

Twitter has been sued again in California under Elon Musk's leadership. According to CNBC's report, the company is being sued over breach of contract and unpaid bills. This serves as Twitter's latest complaint since Musk took over the company last November.

This was filed in California Superior Court in San Francisco. Previously known as Qordoba, Writer Inc. claims that Twitter failed to pay a bill that amounts to $113,856. The company was described as an AI company that gives assistance to employees in creating content to meet their employers' standards for brands, copywriting, and other style guidelines.

Twitter's Response

Vice President of Product, Trust, and Safety Ella Irwin stated that the company does not want to comment on pending litigation or various speculation regarding the company's financial health.

Musk also publicly groused regarding Twitter's financial issues. He stated on his official Twitter account, "Say what you want about me, but I acquired the world's largest non-profit for $44B lol."

Unpaid Bills

Aside from vendors, Wall Street Journal reported that landlords and consultants had made demands for payments in at least nine lawsuits, with their complaints totaling more than $14 million, excluding interest rates. Several lawsuits came as the CEO said Twitter was on track to break even.

In his defense, Musk inherited some of the bills when he took over the company. He quickly implemented a more serious spending style as part of his plans. He sold his billions of dollars worth of shares in Tesla and took on some $13 billion in debt at Twitter as he became the new owner, CEO, and sole director.

Since then, Musk and the company have been sued by Writer and other companies. This includes Columbia REIT as its landlord in San Francisco, Private Jet Services Group as the company's private jet transportation provider, Blueprint Studios Trends as its event-planning and production provider, Innisfree M&A as its consulting firm, and Analysis Group.

Last January, Twitter also received a lawsuit from Crown Estate over unpaid rent. This has traditionally belonged to the monarchy and the one that handles King Charles III's property. The overdue office building is located near Piccadilly Circus in London.

Aside from these, Twitter fell behind on payments to other big companies, including Slack, the company's official workplace chat and collaboration platform owned by Salesforce. Based on Platformer's report, Twitter cut off the access of employees to the platform.
