CEMEX, an Industry-Leader in Construction

The company delivers high-quality products and services through its vertically integrated approach to production and distribution, expertise in cement, ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and urbanization solutions.

Galindo also noted that CEMEX is interested in organizational solutions related to the circular economy or other products related to the concrete value chain.

With roughly 45,000 people in Mexico, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, South Central America, and Asia, the company operates in close to 50 countries. It maintains commercial ties with more than 100 businesses.

Innovation Drives CEMEX

Galindo emphasized in the talk that innovation is vital to CEMEX's future.

The company is committed to expanding its open innovation ecosystem and uncovering new opportunities in advanced building materials, 3D printing, industrialized construction, robotics, and smart cities and buildings.

CEMEX 's goal is to stay ahead of the curve and pioneer new solutions that will transform how people build and live.

Sustainability Is Top-Priority for CEMEX

Galindo mentions that sustainability is a top agenda for CEMEX, including decarbonizing its operations and supporting the circular economy.

CEMEX also created Vertua, a sustainable product portfolio that leverages cutting-edge technology and innovation, as part of its 'Future in Action' program to achieve this.

ETFuels Carbon Utilization Deal

Also mentioned in the Tech Times Exclusive is a vital deal that CEMEX has recently inked.

CEMEX has agreed to partner with green fuels producer ETFuels to transform CO2 from its Alicante cement plant in Spain into green fuels.

This carbon utilization project is groundbreaking in scope and potential contribution to European energy security. It demonstrates significant progress in testing and scaling technologies designed to accelerate decarbonization efforts in cement production.

Under this agreement, ETFuels will combine up to 450,000 metric tons of captured CO2 annually with green hydrogen to produce more sustainable fuels in green methanol (e-methanol). CEMEX is evaluating several strategies and partners to perform CO2 capture for this project.

Galindo expressed his excitement about the potential of this project. He believes that it represents a significant step forward in the cement industry's decarbonization efforts. CEMEX aims to leverage its extensive knowledge and experience in cement production and distribution to make this project successful.

CEMEX is committed to sustainability and innovation. The company's dedication to creating sustainable value for customers worldwide is evident in its ambitious sustainability targets, product portfolio, and carbon utilization project with ETFuels. CEMEX is determined to lead the building materials industry's transformation toward a more sustainable future.
