The Creator Economy 2.0 now allows creators to earn a percentage of the revenue generated by the sale of their custom islands, items, and more. According to a new release from Epic Games, the company is now expanding this opportunity to give its custom islands creators more, with as much as 40 percent of the net revenue.

It would also depend on the fame and reach of the Island, especially if it has returning players that venture to the new map, giving more than what Epic plans to cut them in.

The new program guarantees revenue for islands, as opposed to the past setup where they have to promote their special codes for the public to use.

Custom-Made Fortnite Islands to Gain Boost with Unreal Editor

Epic also took this moment to announce the latest "Unreal Editor" beta which is now available for creators to download. This will help them create better experiences in different islands they are creating but would be exclusive to "Fortnite" only.

It brings the Unreal Engine 5 tools to creators to gain better features in creating maps and experiences for the public.

The program is open to all creators who have published a custom island in Fortnite Creative mode. To participate in the program, creators must sign up on the portal and provide the necessary information. Previous creators with existing islands that are joining before April 21 may get the revenue they generated since March 1 under this new program.

'Fortnite' and its Expansive Battle Royale Experience

Fortnite Creative mode is a sandbox-style game mode that allows players to create their islands and game modes. Players can share their custom islands with other players and even sell them on the Fortnite Creative store, alongside the many trinkets in the Item Shop which people may buy using V-Bucks or real-world money.

Apart from creator-made islands, "Fortnite" is also known for collaborating with companies and personalities for bringing their experiences to the battle royale game. One example would be NFL and Visa, which brought the immersive football experience to gamers, right in its Creative mode.

The Creator Economy 2.0 Program is a significant step for Epic Games, which has been criticized in the past for not sharing enough revenue with creators. The program is also a significant opportunity for creators, who can now earn money from their custom islands and potentially turn their passion for Fortnite into a career.
