The Digital Supply Chain Consultants released a new report that details the Apple iPhone roadmap through 2027, giving insight as to what the company will feature on the next smartphone releases. It centers on the advanced LTPO screens, also known as the customized OLED displays that feature a variable screen refresh rate for its users.

It is known that these LTPO screens were installed on the Pro versions of the iPhone starting with the iPhone 13 Pro series and moving over to the iPhone 14 Pro.

In this new report, DSCC claims that Apple will bring the LTPO for all versions of the iPhone come 2025, which is still two years away, centering on the iPhone 17 models.

What to Expect on Apple's New Displays?

According to Ross Young (via 9to5 Mac), the non-Pro iPhones coming this 2023 and 2024 will still feature the LTPS, also known for featuring the static refresh rate of 60Hz, but will arrive with the Pill notch.

However, come 2025 to 2026, it will already adopt the LTPO with the Pill Notch.

By 2027, the iPhone lineup will feature the under-display Face ID and LTPO, hinting at the ProMotion for all devices in four years.

For the Pro lineup, it will feature the under-display Face ID and camera hole from 2025 through 2026, and by 2027, Apple will put the selfie camera under the display as well.

Apple and its Famous iPhones

The iPhone 13 Pro series release brought the world the first LTPO screens, and it gave us ProMotion which is best known for its variable screen refresh rate that helps bring different experiences to the device. What is best about it is that despite this varying refresh rate, it does not damage or affect the battery with its performance.

Apple then stepped up its game with the release of the iPhone 14 Pro series, as apart from the ProMotion display, the company also integrated the Dynamic Island, unifying all the notifications and pop-ups at the top. Since its arrival, it is now the anticipated pill notch to arrive with the next versions arriving soon, starting with the iPhone 15 Pro smartphones.

It was previously rumored that the iPhone 15 series will not all feature the Dynamic Island and the ProMotion features, as they will remain for the Pro versions of the smartphone and it is understandable. The same goes for the recent report from the DSCC, with an expansive roadmap that details what the next iPhones will feature with the latest screen developments.
