Data miners have found that Pokemon Contests are slated to return in the hit augmented reality mobile game "Pokemon GO," giving fans of the title something new to look forward to in the game, Dexerto reports.

According to the most recent datamine, players will be able to take part in these Contests, and the size of their Pokemon will be a key factor in choosing the winners!

A Look Into Pokemon Contests

The previous Pokemon Contest was held in January 2022 as a part of the "Pokemon GO Tour: Johto Contest" event, where players displayed their avatars and 3-Pokemon teams that represented their styles.

Independent judges selected the winners based on the themes, composition, and creativity of their avatar creation. The subsequent stage of the event included these winners as NPCs.

Pokemon Contests Are Back in Pokemon GO

Pokemon Contests will once again be available in the game, according to a tweet from the popular data mining account PokeMiners, which is well-known for its exhaustive examinations of the game's code with each update. The contests will compare the sizes of the participating Pokemon, according to the tweet.

Players will receive rewards for each contest they enter, and they must specifically claim their contest rewards, according to the "Contests Are Back" section of their report

This suggests that rather than being an NPC in a one-time event, the Contests will provide real in-game items and rewards this time.

The size of the Pokemon will be a crucial aspect of who wins the Contest, according to the datamine. Players will want to hang onto all of their XXL and XXS Pokemon because these new actions will check the size of the Pokemon, and they might become more valuable in the future.

No Official Confirmation Yet

Dexerto tells us that while there has been no official confirmation of the return of Pokemon Contests, there have been mentions of seasons playing a role in the datamine's findings and a schedule in the game's code. This could imply that Pokemon Contests, like "GO Battle League," will become a permanent game mode.

The return of Pokemon Contests is sure to excite game fans, as it provides a new and exciting way to interact with the Pokemon GO universe.

Players will need to think more smartly about which Pokemon to use in the Contest now that size is a determining factor. It will be interesting to see how this new feature is implemented and what kind of rewards are available to participants.
