The new "Harry Potter" series will feature a new generation cast, and sadly, it is unknown if the grown-up cast of the famed film franchise from Warner Bros. will make a comeback to the show.

'Harry Potter' Series Confirmed by Warner, to Stream on Max

Warner Bros. Discovery has confirmed that a new "Harry Potter" series is coming, and it has been picked up by Max, the revamped streaming platform of HBO. The team is claiming that this will be a faithful adaptation to the famed novel series centering on the life of "The Boy Who Lived," with the world seeing Harry from his youthful beginnings, down to his growth as a wizard and defeating Voldemort.

WB TV promises that the Max original series will be available in the US and the world once it is produced, but has shared no information if it already started casting or shooting the show.

The company also said that the original movies which starred Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and its star-studded cast will remain its core and available globally through Max.

New-Gen Cast for the Decades-Long 'Harry Potter' Series

In the release, Warner said that it will start from the beginning and will be a significant remake of the novel series, centering on a new generation cast to feature its characters. Moreover, it will be a faithful adaptation to the novels, meaning that it would follow it closely, and this is evidenced by its "The Last of Us" series adaptation.

The show will be run for a decade, at the very least, as revealed by Warner, and would probably center on one book per season to fully explore its intricate details.

Max and Warner already released an announcement trailer for the Harry Potter series.

The 'Harry Potter' Franchise and Legacy

It may have been more than a decade since the last book from the Harry Potter novel series, particularly with The Deathly Hallow's 2007 release date, but the franchise still lives on in people's hearts and of course in pop culture. The Potter books introduced the world to the wonderous side of wizardry and witchcraft, being one of the largest franchises in history.

The book and movie's prequel also came to light with a story behind Newt Scamander and the First Wizarding War predating Harry's arrival at Hogwarts. The movie franchise "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" from 2016 reignited Wizarding World fans in the world again, also focusing on the story behind Dumbledore and Grindelwald's feud which was a key point in the books.

One of the most recent franchise revivals was the highly-successful game from WB Games and Avalanche Software, "Hogwarts Legacy," which is now Warner's best-selling title.

With the revamp on Max, it picked up a massive story that would remake what we know of in the "Harry Potter" franchise, centering on a new series that will "Accio" fans back to it. The latest confirmation only shows that the Potter and Wizarding World franchise lives on, with this decades-long faithful adaptation with a new cast.
