Good news for Samsung users! After several users voiced their concerns about the Smart Lock options being missing from their devices, Samsung heard them and is now coming up with an answer.

Google Play Services Update to Restore Smart Lock Feature Next Week

According to the story by Sam Mobile, the company has confirmed that the Smart Lock feature will return via a Google Play Services update, and it is set to start rolling out next week.

Android's Smart Lock feature is incredibly useful, as it allows users to keep their devices unlocked while they are near it and to add certain locations or Bluetooth devices. Hence, their device stays unlocked while connected.

Having these options missing put device owners in an awkward situation, as they had to resort to unlocking their phones with a PIN, password, or biometrics (fingerprints or face). Users were pointing out on Twitter how the Smart Lock didn't work.

Samsung to Reintroduce Smart Lock Feature with Updated App

The issue was due to a bug, and Samsung clarified that these are Google's features requiring verification. The modified version of the app is scheduled to be released next week, although Pixel smartphone owners will receive the update earlier.

The update will come through automatic updates, meaning users don't have to worry about manually downloading anything. Reinstalling the existing version of the app may also resolve the issue, in the meanwhile.

Thanks to a new update from Google Play Services, Samsung Galaxy users will once again be able to utilize the Smart Lock feature on their devices. Several users had noticed the feature had disappeared from their devices, and after acknowledging the issue, Samsung has now announced it will be rolled out in an update next week.

Update to Provide Extra Security Measures for Samsung Users

Android's Smart Lock feature allows users to keep their devices unlocked in familiar places, such as their homes or offices, and unlock their devices with trusted Bluetooth. A bug on Galaxy devices caused it, and Pixel devices will receive the update earlier than Samsung's.

Rebooting your device can also temporarily resolve the issue, though it's no substitute for the upcoming update. The update is also required as it provides extra security features that the bug couldn't provide.

Samsung users can now look forward to the update and feel more secure about unlocking their devices. The update will relieve many Galaxy users who may not have wanted to utilize every security measure available, such as using a fingerprint, password, or PIN code to access their device.
