Peacock has released a new trailer for the newest video game adaptation of "Twisted Metal."

For those unfamiliar with "Twisted Metal," it's a racing game that you can compare with "Mario Kart." It has Battle Mode, which allows players to square off with each other while riding their armed vehicles.

Unlike the usual racing video game, you can fire homing missiles at your opponent to hamper them from getting buffs and new weapons. Engadget describes it as "Rocket League" with guns. It's set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland home to violence and non-stop combat.

"Twisted Metal" was first seen in 1995 when Sony released it as a PlayStation-exclusive title. The developer behind the game is SingleTrac, which is the same studio behind "Jet Moto," Warhawk," and "Streak: Hoverboard Racing."

It took us a decade before we finally saw the appearance of evil clowns and bizarre-looking machines with mechanical teeth, seesaws, firecrackers, and other strange weapons.

Bloody Disgusting reports that the "Twisted Metal" teaser trailer s now viewable. You can check the video on YouTube right now.

"The Falcon" star Anthony Mackie will star in the series. He will play the role of John Doe, the main protagonist of the original game, who will go after villains from the post-apocalyptic world.

Mackie will join Stephanie Beatriz, the "badass ax-wielding car thief" in the adaptation.

Their adventure will not only revolve around racing but also a race of death against Sweet Tooth, the notorious killer clown, which Will Arnett will voice. AEW wrestler Samoa Joe will be the physical actor of the iconic villain who is known for his ice cream truck.

Facing the savage marauders on the road will be the greatest challenge for Doe in this high-octane action comedy.

Marc Forman and Arnett are the executive producers of the series.

"Twisted Metal" will premiere on July 27, so buckle up and prepare for a thrilling ride with Mackie in the front seat of the raging vehicle!

Another 'Twisted Metal,' anyone?

If you're wondering if we're getting another "Twisted Metal" game, the answer is "maybe."

Yahoo reported back in February 2023 that we could likely see a revamped version of the game on PC and PSVR 2 because of a job listing hint from Firesprite Studios. The said studio was rumored to be developing the reboot edition of "Twisted Metal."
