The Department of Defense has not released any official statements regarding the balloon, but sources indicate that the situation is being closely monitored.

Balloon's Owner is Unknown, Where Is It Now?
The reports and the latest email statement from DoD indicate that the new balloon is moving toward Mexico, free-flying on its own toward the Southern country.
