Slack has recently jumped to the generative AI trend following the launch of the new Slack GPT. The platform relies on chatbots which help users to be more productive in their tasks.

Just like other chatbot technologies, the new Slack AI bot has a noticeable downside. It has a short-term attention span which is a common problem of other AI platforms.

Slack has finally launched an AI platform that will help users pump up their productivity in business tasks.

Slack is bringing a new approach to the platform by introducing Slack GPT, which does the summarization of notes for the users.

Before the AI chatbot was launched this month, Salesforce, the company behind Slack, said that its Slack division would lend hands to ChatGPT for support. The service also expanded not just to OpenAI's popular platform but also to Claude and Einstein GPT chatbots.

Returning from a vacation, then later scrolling to see what task is waiting for you can be tedious. With Slack GPT, you will no longer need to undergo thorough summarization of notes, according to PC World.

The Slack chatbot lets the users utilize AI to take and create a gist of the messages after a conversation.

The platform also relies on Slack's Native Assisted Writing which is somehow similar to Microsoft's Copilot. Automation has never been a hard task with Salesforce's technology.

As per Slack's senior VP of Product, Ali Rayl, the chatbots will be ready by 2024, but there are no particular features mentioned about them.

"We've seen a ton of interest, honestly ... We have so much information [that] we have a unique advantage here. All the messages your company has sent in all of your channels - that's valuable ... How can we take generative AI and make that more valuable to a company?" Rayl told CNBC in an interview.

No-Code Features Coming to Customer Service Employees

Salesforce is not only happy to launch Slack GPT to the public soon, but it's also more than satisfied to roll out no-code features for professionals.

CNBC says in its recent report that the company aims to unveil useful tools that will help customer service workers in generating responses to customers.

The tools will also aid them in automating incident management which is essential to find out the cause of an internal issue.

As such, marketers can take advantage of this in auto-generating images and copies for campaigns.

According to Rayl, customer information won't be kept in storage. With that being said, there will be no database for the chats and other data of the customers. Some users think that it's unethical for other companies to use their data without consent. It gives a bad light to them that their data is only used for AI training.

Slack GPT Has a Short-Term Memory

The power of AI is limitless, yet we are certain that it's still flawed. It's a far-from-perfect creation since artificial intelligence is not capable of remembering each piece of data on its end.

Slack chats, for instance, can disappear all of a sudden because the company has no plans to store them. It might incur legal sanctions on their part.

Slack's representative acknowledged the platform's limitation, stating that the company will continue to evaluate the integration of ChatGPT into the native Slack app.
