Pokemon Go players are feeling frustrated and disappointed as Niantic released an event featuring the rare Pokemon, Larvesta. This quest is seen to be like none other as even game experts say accomplishing it can be tricky, if not impossible.

The An Instinctive Hero event began on May 2 and will end on May 8, allowing players to hatch Larvesta from 2km, 5km, or 10km eggs. This might sound like another typical mission but believe us, it is not.

Multiple reports tell us that the low hatching rate, estimated to be less than 1%, has made it nearly incomprehensible for players to obtain the Pokemon.

A Look at the Controversial Pokemon GO Event

As Pokemon Go reporter JRE47 explains, Larvesta is a Pokémon that requires a 5-kilometer walk to have a chance at obtaining a candy. Additionally, 400 candies are needed to evolve Larvesta into its evolved form, Volcarona.

Now to illustrate the daunting task more: 10-kilometer eggs have the potential to provide between 16 to 32 candies per hatch. However, JRE47 tells us that 5-kilometer eggs only offer 10 to 21 candies, and 2-kilometer eggs give a mere 5 to 10 candies per hatch.

Even in the most optimal scenario, where one manages to hatch a Larvesta in each batch of 9 eggs and completes ten rounds of egg hatching during the event, they would only obtain 160 to 320 candies if all the hatched eggs were 10-kilometer ones. This undertaking is a formidable and time-consuming task.

Adding insult to injury, Niantic has recently asked players if they have evolved their Larvesta into Volcarona during the event. This has led many players to believe that the company is out of touch with the game and its players or just plain 'trolling.'

Pokemon GO Players Baffled by Bizarre Task

On Reddit, Dexerto reports that players voiced their frustration with the situation. User ObviousSherbert pointed out that Niantic is either trolling its players or is out of touch with the game's mechanics.

Meanwhile, several other users expressed disappointment that Niantic had turned a potentially fun event into a tedious grind.

Adding to players' frustration is the fact that Niantic did not increase the Shiny odds during the event, despite announcing that it would do so for certain eggs.

Players have not noticed any difference in Shiny odds, leading many to believe that Niantic has broken its promise.

Niantic could have averted this by making Larvesta available via a special research task or by raising the hatching rate during the event. Instead, the company has given gamers an unachievable goal, leading to a sense of disenchantment within the Pokemon Go community.
