Twitter's encrypted DM feature finally arrives, as confirmed by the social media platform's security engineer, Christopher Stanley.

Recently, Elon Musk announced that they are working on new end-to-end encryption for Twitter's direct messages.

"The acid test is that I could not see your DMs even if there was a gun to my head," boastfully said the billionaire.

Now, Musk kept his promise by rolling out the most-awaited Twitter encrypted DM feature.

According to Engadget's latest report, Twitter is already rolling out the new encrypted DM enhancement.

"Super excited about launching Phase 1 of our Encrypted DM's project!" announced Stanley via his official Twitter post.

The Twitter security engineer added that the social media platform aims to be the most trusted online platform.

Stanley admitted that they are still far away from being the most secure social media website on the internet.

"Until then, here is the Encrypted Direct Message we are releasing - a new way of communicating on Twitter," added Christopher.

Who Can Access Twitter Encrypted DMs? 

Since the new Twitter encrypted DM feature is still in its Phase 1 launch, not everyone can use it. 

If you want to take advantage of this new privacy enhancement, then you need to get verified first. 

This means subscribing to the controversial Twitter Blue service. 

As of writing, Elon Musk hasn't confirmed if the new Twitter encryption DM will be available to all users once it's rollout is completed. 

If you can access it already, then here are the steps you need to follow to use it: 

  1. First, click the unencrypted conversation in your inbox. 
  2. After that, tap on the Information button and click the "Start Encrypted Message" option.
